Seattle Heat Wave Factoid & Freebie

Posted on July 28, 2009
Faithful readers of the Mt. Baker Bits Blog will recall stories and adventures from Seattle's record cold spell, ice and snow storms of this past winter.

Well, the weather gods have deigned to provide us with the perfect counterbalance to the ultra cold winter, an ultra hot summer!

Factoid:  This summer is providing an amazing moment in recorded Seattle weather history!  Yes, the low temps in Seattle have have always decended to 70 degrees or below.
Not since the 1890's have we ever had a day when our low temps exceeded 70!
That record is being shattered this week.
I found this hard to believe, but as reported today on NPR and confirmed by KOMO- newsradio, Seattle low temperatures have always moderated to below 70 at night.  Not so with this current heat spell.  High temps are also expected to exceed 100 degrees this week and break several records!

Freebie:  The first 5 Bits readers receive a two FREE passes to our gorgeous local horse race track, Emerald Downs.  Located in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, it is a glorious place to spend an afternoon or evening.  Fun and inexpensive entertainment.  All ages admitted.

Give me a call or an email to claim your prize!!
