We started at 8a in line at the Longworth Congressional Office Building, waiting with folks from around the nation, to pick up our tickets for tomorrow's swearing-in. This speedy 1 hour wait in the cold was warmed by countless stories of the campaign trail, and horror stories of cross-country travel to our nation's capitol.

Congressman Jim McDermott actually met us at the door to his office and chatted with us about yesterday's amazing concert at the Lincoln Memorial.

Saw and chatted with Hiz Honor Ron Sims (Mt. Baker resident), and King County Executive.

Walked and walked, until "the dogs" couldn't take anymore... Library of Congress, National Gallery, Union Station, Inaugural Ball locale at Gov. Spitzer's infamous Mayflower Hotel... and lots lots more.

Our tickets allow us to stand for 6 hours in the silver section. See the map:

That photo on this blog, of the "nice" folks condemning the "god-less masses", and the "gay loving President" was a trip! Some helpful gay gentlemen offered their "advice" on things, and several people commented that this bizarre demonstration was only possible because we were in the greatest nation on earth (vis-a-vis freedom, and such) !

Tonite, the festivities continue, as we party the night away at the Illinois State Society Ball (thanks Angela!).
