Yes, today's the day.  Rather, tonite's the night for our red-eye to Boston-Logan, then a four hour layover before our commuter flight to Dulles airport, a Virginia suburb of DC.

Now a couple of words of introduction of our hostess Marion, who's offered up her house for Larry & me for free lodging in "the District".

 

She's an amazing woman.  Currently employed by the US Dept. of Health & Human Services, Office of Preparedness & Emergency Operations (wow!).  Marion has had a remarkable career starting with a Peace Corps tenure in the Central African Republic as a primary school teacher, and helping with public health issues in Central and South America.  She also worked on AIDS issues in Nicaragua, and numerous other "public good" efforts between the US & Latin America.

Marion speaks, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, and Mandarin!  Don't know how much time we'll actually be able to share with this remarkable citizen, given that Larry and I are zero-ing in on "Celebration Central"-  the Inauguration of Americas'  first Afro-American President.  His father was African, right?!  Much info is available on the Web on the Obama clan in Africa... facinating stuff!
